At 72 years old, Sir Philip Anthony Hopkins is one of the most well known actors in the world, and his good reputation has been earned with over 40 years of excellent film and television work. Originally an actor on the Royal National Theatre stage, the Welshman has gone on to be a serial killer, two former US Presidents, a hunchback, a corrupt king, and many more. Last night the ‘American Idol’ auditions went to Chicago, and continually reminded us that this was where Obama got his start. In fact, we were forced to watch a four-minute opening that compared the auditions to Obama becoming our first African-American President. Because they’re very close in spectrum.

Sports movies generally come in one of two flavors: comedic efforts featuring a ragtag group of players coming together to achieve success or dramatic situations revolving around a semi-tragic or extremely difficult obstacle that stands in the way of achieving success.

“The Blind Side,” which opens Friday, definitely falls into the latter category.

Over the years Captain Stottlemeyer has been one of most supportive and kind characters on the show “Monk.” He puts up with all of the antics from Monk, not to mention Disher on top of that! He’s had a lot of tragedy on the show, including his wife divorcing him and his girlfriend turning out to be a murderer, so it’s about time the long suffering policeman got a break. A few episodes ago he met a pretty lady called TK (Trudy is her real name, ah!), and apparently it is now six months later. (more…)

Cameron Diaz is one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood but sometimes even her bubbly personality and breathtaking smile fail to entertain movie-goers. Although there have been critics that say she plays the same character in every movie, we love Cameron here at Starpulse. Britney Spears’ comeback is complete - she has topped a new poll to find the best celebrity mom.

The Toxic superstar lost custody of her two sons after her public meltdown in 2008, but gained shared custody with ex Kevin Federline after she proved to the courts she had cleaned up her act.

And the singer’s fans have obviously noticed Spears’ efforts - she received a mammoth 74 per cent share of the vote in a new poll by U.K. Company Park Christmas Saving to find the (more…)

There are a few things you need to know before going to Inglorious Basterds (rated R, now in theaters). First, it is an alternate history of the ending of Nazi Germany and World War II, so do not expect it to do anything that you’ve read about in the history books. Second, it is a Quentin Tarantino film down to every last second: dialogue heavy, tongue-in-cheek, full of black humor, viciously violent, and a stream of loving tributes to particular movies or cinema styles that Tarantino loves.
