NEW YORK – A delusional fan who unleashed his crude fantasies about Ashanti in a battery of text messages to her mother was sentenced Thursday to two years in jail, though his judge rued not being able to send him to psychological treatment instead.

Rapper Soulja Boy has been sentenced to 12 months’ probation stemming from his arrest at a music video shoot in October. The Crank That (Soulja Boy) hit-maker was shooting a clip at an abandoned house in Georgia with a cast and crew of 40 people, including fans he had invited to participate.
However, when authorities arrived to investigate complaints of noise, half the group, including Soulja Boy, fled by foot.

Paul McCartney will be the only solo Beatle not to be among the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame when Ringo Starr is honored on Monday. The drummer will unveil the 2,401st star on the Walk of Fame outside the fabled Capitol Records Building, where George Harrison and John Lennon already have pavement honors.
The Fab Four also have a band star on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea, but McCartney has never claimed his honor.

LONDON (AP) — Women are dominating the nominations for Britain’s leading music awards — the Brits — but Internet sensation Susan Boyle was snubbed on the shortlist.
Quirky chanteuses Florence and the Machine, Pixie Lott, Lily Allen and Lady GaGa all have three nominations.
Other British contenders include boy band JLS, Leona Lewis, Bat for Lashes, Paolo Nuttini and Dizzee Rascal.

LONDON (AP) — Rocker Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones was given a formal police warning Tuesday for assault, his spokesman said.
Spokesman David Rigg confirmed that Wood, who is 62, received the warning, or caution, after he was arrested earlier this month for assault near his home in Esher, in southern England.
