MEXICO CITY (AP) — Latin Grammy winner Ramon Ayala was released from jail for health reasons Wednesday, but authorities said he remains under investigation for alleged ties to a drug cartel.
Ayala, a Texas-based norteno singer, was arrested Dec. 11 when troops raided a lavish party hosted by the Beltran Leyva cartel outside the central mountain town of Tepoztlan. His lawyer has said Ayala and his band, the Bravos

NEW YORK (AP) — John Legend has gotten the green light from the NBA to sing at its annual all-star game. Latin rock star Juanes will join Legend at the Feb. 15 All-Star event in Phoenix. They will sing “If You’re Out There,” an anthem about leadership, from Legend’s recent album, “Evolver.”

WASHINGTON (AP) - Latino entertainers Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony graced “la alfombra roja” - the red carpet - at Union Station Sunday to give a Hispanic flair to the inauguration pre-celebration Sunday.
